About Us

Marlborough’s River Queen is moored at Beaver Station wharf, in Riverside Park, two minutes’ walk from the centre of Blenheim. She was purpose-built about 10 years ago to operate on the Opawa River. Although some 35 tonnes she only has a draft of 18 inches – so we can navigate the shallowest of waters! The River Queen is a spacious vessel: she is licensed to carry 100 passengers plus crew.

Marlborough’s River Queen is a family business, locally owned and operated.  You will usually find Shona on the boat, working hard in the galley or behind the bar and sometimes assisted by Peter or Sandra. Full time skipper is Dylan, who is always up for a chat in the wheelhouse.
